Our Services

Plexar provides solutions for our clients in the form of algorithms and/or products that we develop. In describing our services, we present an array of application areas for which we have provided solutions. These areas are a natural outgrowth of our experience and skill, representing the Plexar wheelhouse.

Of course, the range of application areas that we describe here does not limit the application areas in which we can provide solutions but does provide a broad illustration of those areas.

A common thread in all of our areas of service is bringing solutions to complex, challenging problems. Our solutions are not theoretical; they are directly targeted for our clients’ products.

Computed Tomography (CT)

Computed Tomography (CT)

Our industry leading team has a combined total of more than 80 years of experience in computed tomography (CT) – including the physics of CT, CT reconstruction and calibration, x-ray dose management and CT image quality.

Data Acquisition and Calibration

Data Acquisition and Calibration

Our expertise involves systems that collect data measurements of physical phenomena from a wide variety of measuring devices.  We develop algorithms  to calibrate the devices, establishing key results.

Feature Detection

Feature Detection

Developing algorithms to detect features is the key component of our machine vision and non-destructive testing services. This capability is also integral to many projects that involve calibration, image quality metrics and signal processing.

Image Processing

Image Processing

Nearly all of our projects involve image processing, in some cases producing the quality images required for our clients’ products, in other cases using acquired images to establish a key metric or conclusion.

Image Quality Metrics

Image Quality Metrics

In every system that produces or utilizes images, it is imperative to establish metrics regarding the quality of the images. As we determine the appropriate metrics for the system, we can then develop the algorithms or products that calculate those metrics from the system images.

Image Reconstruction

Image Reconstruction

Image reconstruction is the key component for systems (including most medical imaging systems) that acquire data and turn that data into images. We have extensive experience with the mathematical and numerical algorithms that produce quality images from that data.

Inverse Problems

Inverse Problems

In many of our projects, the solution for our client involves modeling the physical system for which data is being acquired.  Finding the parameters of those models comes under the category of an “inverse problem.”  We develop practical solutions for those inverse problems.

Machine Vision

Machine Vision

The image processing skills, provided by our team, are the basis for solving complex machine vision problems that typically require sophisticated geometry transforms and always require image feature detection and classification.

Measurement Device Simulations

Measurement Device Simulations

For many projects, it is essential to accurately model the behavior of a device that is a component of our client’s product.  We often develop algorithms that simulate the model that characterizes the device.

Medical Imaging

Medical Imaging

We have developed algorithms and products related to computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), mammography, digital imaging, radiation therapy and ultrasound.

Non-Destructive Testing

Non-Destructive Testing

We have developed solutions for non-destructive testing problems using x-ray, ultrasound and optical measurements as well as camera imaging.

Project Strategy and Proposals

Project Strategy and Proposals

We have evolved our capability to execute projects for which a technology solution must be developed along with the product implementation. Our proposals provide a roadmap for that strategy.

Reports and Documentation

Reports and Documentation

We often take the lead in producing quality project reports and technology documentation for our clients. This includes progress reports, visualization for reviews, design and test documentation consistent with any regulatory requirements.

Signal Processing

Signal Processing

Signal processing typically involves dealing with measurements that are inherently 1-dimensional, whereas image processing involves 2-dimensional measurements.  We have significant expertise and a large toolbox of algorithms for signal processing applications.

X-ray Measurements

X-ray Measurements

We have many years of detailed involvement with the physics of x-rays, providing the basis for solving problems involving the use of x-rays in image and signal processing.
